Friends! Do you know how the hygiene condition of Hong Kong is? Frankly I must tell you it is so worse! Recently the frequency of 'red eye diseases' (conjunctivitis) and upper respiratory diseases are rising badly. It is the same case all over the southern part of China.
For about the contagious diseases Hong Kong is seriously influenced by the mainland China and are very common as many local people will out and home between. So, the disregard to the cleanliness always causes harm to the city and brewing of pathogens.

So we are aware the health problem of ourselves and our cats too! Besides all the cats are vaccinated and kept under tidy condition. For our breeding program, we imported the healthiest breeding cats which are FIV, FeLV, FIP negative. We even asked the breeders audaciously for the healthy kittens. I not only inquired the type, the colors, the pedigree, but also asked the health background. I asked: "Have they been infected flea, ear mites, ringworm?" "Have they got all vaccinations?" "Have they are checked by vet?" "Are they all FIV/FeLV negative?" and so on. Fortunately the breeders, like Avril of Sardross and Alison of Javeron, they were not displeased, also they were willing to explain the health condition of their kittens and showed me how they manage the health affair of their catteries.

We must do it! It is because we concern the health more than others. We must believe the kittens bred from us are no.1 in health. So far we are proud of it. With the help of other local and foreign breeders, we can keep the healthiest cats, we believe.

However, I recently have seen a very odd idea; someone said cats should be bored if they are kept indoor. Those people persuade others bringing their cats outsides for sun bath or fresh air. I personally do not oppose to the benefit to the cat by outdoor activity. However, it is too dangerous to allow the cat moving freely in the outdoor environment of Hong Kong. If the cat is frightened suddenly, it will wallop in an unacquainted environment. If the cats meet other animals, they will be exposed to the pathogens and easily infected with fatal diseases, the rather that flea and tick is very common all around. So, such unreasoning outdoor activity or so called animals gathering is better to be prohibited.

I suggest that local cat owners can provide a better indoor environment for theirs cats. It should be a room with wide windows which sunlight reaches. The best ones are houses with private garden and good guarding fence and cage which can keep away from other invaders and keep the cats from running away accidentally. Of course the lawn and facility should better be flea and tick counterchecked. The cats are also needed to take the flea guarding products.

Some people may have many good ideas. However cats are totally different from human beings, we cannot treat them as a man. They should be kept indoor safety and leisurely. There is 100% no reason for taking risk to set the cats free in unpredictable conditions. It is too cruel for putting them to the danger. I suggest the owners try to modify their ideas to a better ground. For example, they can learn how to improve the diet of the cats, keep the cats happy, design a good vet check routine or even devoting more time to the cats.
