After spending about two year in keeping and breeding pedigree cats, I personally found that promoting pedigreed cats in Hong Kong is very hard and more or less unnecessary. People who want to adopt a cat are seldom care the cat is pedigreed or not, although they pursue very much the 'breed'. Many local people lack the concept of pedigree cats, they always only think that a 'pure bred' cat is a pedigreed cat.

Some people claimed not to request the registered paper for a pet cat. I really do not know why such people think like that. They claimed that people need to be care more about the cats' health before the pedigree. I agree that health is the most important; however it is also very important to estimate the future health condition of the kitten. Especially there are not too many real cat breeders in Hong Kong. Some people breed only by their own ways, just putting a male to female cats. The kittens would be cute but nothing more than that. How about the genetic defects?

Of course it is not 100% guarantee on the health if a pedigree is shown. People should also take care about the physical condition of the kittens. I believe that most real breeders in Hong Kong now pay enough attention to that affair. So why not try to obtain a kitten from a breeder?

I suggest people to obtain their first cat from breeder rather than pet shop. It is more safe and reliable. Yes it is true that many people have no idea in buying cat from breeders. I always give my helping hands. But I suggest cat lovers should learn how to communicate with breeders.

I also found difficulty in selling my kittens. At this moment I have not sold one, so I am going to quit selling. I believe that the main reason is the pricing and the quantity of kittens available. Concerning the quality of our kitten, we must not offer people a very low price as some people sell. Actually our price is far more affordable from pet shop. We have only very limited number of kittens, so we cannot sell them casually. I hope the kitten can be adopted by someone who is eligible. Under this circumstance, our price is adjustable (we have tried to offer $2000 cut) for someone who really need a cat for a companion. However we have never thought there are too many pretenders in Hong Kong, therefore no deal has been succeed till now.

The worst case was that someone was told not to buy kitten from us. She formerly asked us for a kitten, but then she said she was told that all our BSH kittens and adults are suffering serious diseases. Finally she wrote to complain us what she heard. It was very ridiculous! All of our cats are kept by us; I and my vet have never found them suffered.  The one who complained us also claimed that the stories were told by a very famous breeder and judge from U.S .

My god!!! My boy Sardross Bingo was judged as the best BSH kitten before in HKCLS show, in which all the experienced judges came from U.S. CFA I have urged the lady to tell me who was the so called 'famous breeder + judge', however I have not got the answer till now.

Is it possible to pull down all judges?

In the past two years, I have to deal with such stupid idea and rumors. I also discovered that some of local cat lovers always gave bad comments on our cattery and our cats. One person was very strange, she has never owned a breeding BSH and given any registered BSH kittens. Also she never touched or seen my BSH by her naked eyes. I really do not know why she is able and eligible to place such comments on our BSH.  The reason why I wrote this is to remind people not just believe what they hear. I wish her and the local people who spread bad rumors on us or other reputable breeders should stop doing fiddle-faddle, and should try to doing more meaningful things.

For British Shorthair, I believe there are many good breeders in the world. Locally I recommend the breeders like Tony Chan and Raymond Ng. They are the real breeders working hard and carefully in it. In the past years they have imported many good lines from other countries. For myself, I will work carefully in breeding our beloved cat breed British Shorthair and go on answering the questions of local cat lovers with my knowledge in animals and cats.
